This project consisted of constructing a customized biosolids facility that provides an environmental solution for solids disposal. This design-build project replaced the conventional incineration method of solids handling in which waste was hauled to a nearby landfill. This biosolids process converts the waste, producing a high-grade reusable fertilizer pellet. Design and construction consisted of collecting seven sources of sludge, including primary sludge, waste-activated sludge and scum, and by way of a new pumping station transfer the waste from the existing Nashville Central Wastewater Treatment Plant to the new biosolids treatment facility.
